Oh yeah!

I almost forgot. Don't know how I could, but I got one of these on Saturday:

It's pretty freaking sweet too. It's an LG Dare. After carrying the same phone for two long years and since it broke recently, for my birthday I splurged. I splurged on my son and my daughter too and got them one also. My hubby took my daughter's Env which he has always loved. Everyone is happy. This thing has a 3.2 megapixel camera which is pretty awesome. I used it at a horse show that we went to on Saturday night and took some pics with it as you see here:

This was taken from quite a distance and yes, I know it doesn't look super professional but that's pretty darn good for a cell phone camera, at night....a very dusty night. I filmed a video with it too but I am too tired to go look for it. Ha! Anyways, one of the features I really love is the keyboard and how you can flip it and it knows to turn into a qwerty keyboard. I love a qwerty keyboard on a phone. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! It has a lot of features I have had no time to play with but eventually I will get it figured out. On a scale of 1-10 I give this phone a 20. Check them out if you get a chance.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Hey you all!

I am blogging from the lovely town of Seaside Village, Florida. So far we are halfway into our lovely week long vacation (if you take out the 3 days we were at my mother-in-law's - Ugh! Torture!) It has been beautiful this week. If I had anything to complain about at all it would be the 2 days of jelly fish infestation. Those little suckers look like they would hurt! Kids are catching them in nets and laying them on the shore to look at them, which makes you sure that you keep your flip flops on. Daughter and her friend are having lots of fun but so far have not been able to find any "hot" boys. According to them anyways. One morning hubby and I got up and walked to the beach early and sat out on a pavillion to drink coffee and it was heavenly. The first morning we were here the water was crystal clear. The next two mornings they have been murky and loaded with marine pests. We are making a huge pot of spaghetti and then we will head out to explore the town once again. Every evening people come out and congregate in the village and line up at the various places for ice cream, milkshakes, t-shirts, and all of that sort of stuff. This place is pretty much amazing!

It's Over!

I was officially released from the orthopedic doc yesterday. Yay! I went in for my final visit and the two surgeries I had on my hand were successful. After months of physical therapy, the joints are still tight and the scar tissue still has not released the tendon so that it moves smoothly, but that may still come with time. My doc says there is still a chance that I could develop arthritis in that hand before I do anywhere else, but he joints are lined up good and maybe that will not happen.

On a much lighter note, hubby and I are painting our kitchen and family room this weekend. Here are some before pictures and I will post some after pictures when we are done. He is doing much of the painting and I am doing all the supervising. Until I get full strength back in my hand so that I don't drop things, I am going to be the bi-stander on projects such as these. Me dropping paint all over the place...not good!

Before: (Please note my helpers taking a break - totally unacceptable!)

Ok...here we go

I guess I have a new blog now which is just as well. I can get off to a great new start. So much has happened since I last blogged last August. At the end of September I rented a limo for my daughter's birthday and picked up all her girlfriends (12 of them) and somehow in all the confusion, ended up tripping on my flip flop and falling IN the limo and breaking my right hand. I had hand surgery the next week and had pins and screws put in my hand. Several months later I had another surgery to remove the pins and screws and have been enduring twice weekly physical therapy ever since. I am learning to use my right hand again which is why I have not blogged in a while. I truly have not wanted to or felt like it. I hope I can catch everything up and maybe this will serve as mental therapy for me as well. My daughter continues to be very busy. She is in the band at school as well as the Jazz Band. She sings and plays trumpet in her teen praise band at church, sings in the choir, is an officer in 2 clubs, and runs me crazy. This explains why I am down with the flu this week. I have been run into the ground the last few weeks. Hubby has been working many hours and I have been doing single mom duty. It finally caught up with me. No rest for the weary!
